  • Pesticide Poisoning of Animals Report 2007
    16 December 2008: the Pesticide Poisoning of Animals Report 2007 is now available
  • 2008 WIIS Quarterly Reports
    20 November 2008:  The Pesticides Poisoning of Animals report Quarter 2 2008 - covering April to June is available now.
  • Published Resources for Amateur Pesticide Users
    30 September 2008: Postcards, postcard display holders and laminated posters, giving information about how to use, store and dispose of garden pesticides safely, are available free of charge from PSD.
  • IRAG guidelines
    26 August 2008: Two IRAG guidelines have been issued
  • Human Health Enquiry/Incident Survey for Pesticides (HHEIS) 2007
    12 August 2008: This is an amendment to Regulatory Update 11/2008 which was issued on 8 May 2008 and requires Approval Holders of all products approved in the UK during 2007 to provide PSD with details of human health related reports involving their products, received from any source, during that year.
  • EU Thematic Strategy for Pesticides: News
    12 December 2008: PSD has revised it's impact assessment to take account of the Common Position and the Parliament's ENVI Committee's 2nd reading amendments, concerning 'cut-off' criteria and substitution provisions, which will affect the availability of active substances. The agronomic impact assessment is now included in the revised impact assessment.
  • Annual Report 2007/08 News Release
    24 June 2008: We have published our Annual Report & Accounts 2007-08, which details our performance against targets set by ministers.
  • Pesticides Forum letter to the European Commission
    23 June 2008:  Pesticides Forum asks for an EU Impact Assessment on hazard criteria for new Pesticides Regulation.
  • Resident and Bystander Exposure to Pesticides
    30 January 2008: Two leaflets on ‘The Good Neighbour Initiative’, published in November 2006 by the National Farmers Union ( NFU), are now available on our website. These leaflets contain advice on best practice and guidance on addressing neighbours' concerns for farmers and operators spraying pesticides near to residential areas.
  • Two recent prosecutions brought by the RSPCA and the CPS resulted from incidents investigated under the Wildlife Incident Investigation Scheme
    30 January 2008: Two investigations undertaken jointly by Natural England, the police, RSPB and RSPCA have led to successful prosecutions under the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 for offences relating to lack of training in the use of pesticides and the improper storage of pesticides.

  • EFSA working document - physchem properties and methods
    13 December 2007: EFSA's working document, which is a record of decisions taken at PRAReR in the area of pysical chemical properties and analytical methods, has been published on the PSD website
  • School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme
    25 September 2008: Publication of the results of the pesticide residues monitoring for the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme (SFVS) Spring Term 2008.  The SFVS supplies four to six year old children in Local Education Authority maintained infant, primary and special schools in England with a free piece of fruit or vegetable each school day.  Each term samples are collected and analysed for pesticide residues.
  • ACP Annual Reports
    28 October 2008:  The Annual Report of the ACP for 2007 is now available.
